Steve Savage, Communications Manager

Steve has been working for Northwest CT Public Safety since 1981, celebrating his 25th anniversary with the organization in 2006. Steve came to us via the Wolcott Police Department’s Communication Division. Steve began at Northwest as a Senior Dispatcher and was promoted to Chief Dispatcher in 1991 and to Communications Manager in 1999. Savage, as he is known by most, is responsible for the day to day operations of the center. This includes, but in no way is limited to, scheduling, supervision of communications staff, equipment maintenance, training, and trouble-shooting. Savage has been a member of the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Corp. since 1981, where he currently serves as an EMT-I and is a member of the Board of Directors. Steve’s service isn’t limited to EMS. He has been a member of the Wolcott Fire Department Co. 3, since 1979, where he holds the rank of Lieutenant. When Steve isn’t involved in public safety, he enjoys cycling, electronics and white water rafting.
