Keith Griffin

Depending on the time of day, Keith Griffin can be seen dispatching a fire, putting out a fire, or investigating its cause. Keith, more commonly known as “Griff”, has been with Northwest Public Safety since May of 1991, when he was hired as third shift fire dispatcher. He later worked as EMS dispatcher and spent several years as second shift fire dispatcher, before moving up to day shift last fall. Griff has been in the emergency services for about 30 years, having worked on a number of volunteer fire departments and ambulance corps, while a career navy man stationed along the east coast. He has been a member of the Prospect Fire Department since 1978, and holds the rank of Lieutenant. He has also been the Prospect Fire Marshal, since February of 1994, first serving as Deputy Marshal the year before. One of Prospect’s most familiar faces, Griff is also an EMT and responds to medical calls locally. To date, he has delivered six babies, and has received three town Life Saver Awards and one Connecticut State Award. He has three grown children and eight grandchildren.
